Hi Chris,
You are right, two-way databinding is recommended only for some special cases when the user needs to quickly build some specific ad hoc user interface.

The default templates that smartDBforms.NET uses are stored at <WebSiteRoot>\smartDBtemplates\TemplatesStorage.ascx. You can have a look at them. The large text template is defined in the TemplateHolder control with id LargeTextTemplate.

smartDBforms.NET provides a robust set of database user interface templates and allows users to further modify and extend them in order to fit their specific business needs.
